A case study to evaluate the efficacy of tiladikshara in mutrashmari

Abstract

Mutrashmari is one of the most common disease of mutravahastrotas. In Ayurveda, mutrashmari is considered as Asthamahagada. Clinical features of mutrashmari explained in various Ayurvedic text resembles of urolithiasis in modern science. In modern science the main treatment available for mutashmari is surgical procedure. Less medicine are available for conservative management. Also surgical procedure required high expenditure and skilled labour and have high rate of recurrence. In Ayurveda various conservative medicine are mentioned for mutrashmari. Which dose not have any major side effect, are easily available cost effective and can avoid recurrences of stone formation. Here a case of 40yr male with USG showing mutrashmari of 6mm in Right kidney since2 month was treated with Tiladikshar for the period of 1 month. At the end of treatment relief in signs and symptoms,USG showed no evidence of calculi.
