An An Impact of Advanced Course Curriculum prescribed by NCISM on the Students of First Professional B.A.M.S. with special reference to Rachana Sharir Array Section Original Research Articles

Abstract
Introduction: Recently a major step taken by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine regarding course curriculum. It has prescribed a course curriculum for First Professional B.A.M.S. Implementation of the same is definitely going to bring a major change in the education in Ayurveda. It will lead to various educational researches in the field of Ayurveda as well. It is designed in such a way that various teaching-learning methods can be incorporated while teaching. Method: Various teaching-learning methods like didactic, demonstration, group discussion, seminars, problem-based learning, case-based learning, self-directed learning were used in the subject of Rachana Sharir for transfer knowledge to the students of the First Professional B.A.M.S. So as to assess the impact on the students, survey was carried out by providing questionnaire by Google form. Conclusion was made on the basis of responses obtained. Result: Out of total sixty students, 56.67% students were agreed whereas 35% students were strongly agreed with the positive impact of the new curriculum. Students were happy with the entire teaching-learning process. They got well acquainted with all the topics in the subject concerned. Discussion: Implementation of this course curriculum found very useful while undergoing the teaching-learning process in the subject of Rachana Sharir. It helped the students to become competent, self-directed to get further knowledge about the topic learned. Thus, competency-based course curriculum formed by NCISM has positive impact on the students of First Professional B.A.M.S. for understanding of the subject.
